The Wolf

Alone, on a dark night,
Not a leaf stirs,
Not a bird takes flight,
Only the sound of footsteps through firs.
Suddenly, in the distance,
A shadow appears
Then, like a missed chance,
It soon disappears.
You stand there and wonder,
Feeling a slight chill,
Then hear a howl from far yonder,
There up on the hill.
It is a wolf that you hear,
It is a wolf that you see,
A grey wolf you observe,
To be the same wolf as me!

A tiny tear upon your face,

As you long to find a place,

Where everyone is super fab,

And nothing is at all drab.

But such a place is not to be,

There is no place like that you see,

And so that fact makes you cry,

But also to wonder why.

Why is such a place not real,

You ponder and then you steal,

A look toward a website,

And everything then feels right.

It is chicken smoothie,

Though the name is a tiny bit loony,

Everything else lights up your face,

You have finally found your place.
